Oak Tree Nursery is a purpose built nursery which opened in August 2003. Situated within the Total Fitness Leisure complex in Willerby, Hull.
It's a family run business and the director Lynn Hawkins is a qualified Registered Sick Children's
Nurse (RSCN) with paediatric experience, gained at a local children's ward.
At Oaktree Day Nursery we aim to provide a happy, secure and stimulating environment wherein we can nurture social and emotional development and provide a broad and balanced curriculum, appropriately planned to offer a wide range of learning experiences.
Above all we want your child to be happy and secure with us and to grow and develop through a stimulating and fun environment.
Opening hours
The Nursery offers full and part time day care from the ages of six weeks to five years old.
The Nursery is open Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm

Opening hours
The Nursery offers full and part time day care from the ages of 3-months to five years old. The Nursery is open Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm
The nursery can cater for up to 70 children. Although we charge for per half / full day sessions ETC. We fully understand the the flexible working hours parents have to work these days therefore we can be totally flexible on childcare hours required, just discuss your requirements with the Manager.
Staff
The nursery is a family run business and the director Lynn Hawkins is a qualified Registered Sick Children's Nurse (RSCN) with paediatric experience, gained at a local children's ward. The manager Sally Jackson, as gained eleven years experience in child care management.
All staff are vetted prior to employment with aid of police checks and employment history.
The company is dedicated to ongoing staff development which is achieved by internal and external training. We have achieved our investors in people award.
All of our rooms are co-ordinated by qualified and well experienced staff. Each room operates with a qualified supervisor working closely with the manager to cater for your children's needs. Each child is assigned a key worker, who will aim to develop and monitor the Childs progress individually.
Food
All food is prepared on site daily, by an experienced cook. We aim to provide a healthy and well balanced diet.
Breakfast: Toast, fruit and yoghurt / cereal.
Lunch: Various meals from finger foods to cooked meals, with a selection of fresh meat and vegetables.
Afternoon Tea: A range of hot / cold snacks, sandwiches, cakes, fruit and yoghurts.
Drinks: We provide Water or cows milk throughout the day.
We discuss with each child and parent to create a multicultural menu.
Health & Safety / Security
At Oaktree Nursery we believe that the safety of the children in our care is absolutely essential.
The full nursery is fully air conditioned with separate room control temperature switches.
The care of babies and infants goes straight into to the very roots of human society.
Nothing can be more important than the safety and wellbeing of our children. Oaktree Nursery rooms have been specially designed rooms, child level toilets and washing and ample storage for all our toys.
Oaktree is inspected by the council health & safety officer and is registered and inspected by OFSTED.
A REGISTERED SICK CHILDREN'S NURSE IS IN ATTENDANCE
The Nursery operates a door entry system, which is the latest bio metrics finger print system.
The Building is a purpose built nursery therefore the welfare of our guests as been designed from the planning stages of the nursery to the completion of the building.
There is plenty of free parking available.
BABY ROOM
Babies and families are welcomed into our light, spacious and modern rooms where we provide the perfect introduction to nursery life. Babies can join us from 3 months of age where we have a comfortable staff ratio of 1:3.
Oaktree aim to continue your child own home routine as much as possible, to continue all their individual needs. All staff are qualified and have experience caring for babies.
Staff organise various activities throughout the day to promote the childs all round development. We have a variety of toys and the baby room as plenty of space for developing their gross motor skills.
Within the baby room we have three separate rooms to cater for nappy changing, milk room and laundry room. Parents are required to provide their own formula milk,nappies and wipes. As your baby grows and commences weening ,we work closely alongside parents to maintain nutritional needs, as at home. We provide full fat milk, water and juice throughout the day.
Each baby’s dedicated Key Person will ensure that all of their requirements are met – you can always be assured that you and your baby will meet a familiar face at the start of every day. In addition to each baby’s individual communication book and daily communication sheet, our staff look forward to and value the time they have to chat with each family. Twice a year families will receive a more formal written progress report highlighting their baby’s strengths and successes in relation to the aspects of the national framework.
Daily records will be maintained to allow parents to oversee their Childs daily routine and progress. Staff make themselves available at the beginning and end of each session to discuss the Childs daily development.
The unit provides adequate sleep and quiet facilities for your Childs comfort.
There are plenty of prams and cots, we have our own outside play area.
PRE TODDLERS
This room caters for ten 1-2 year olds with a maxinum of four staff.
The unders 2s are given regular opportunity to explore:

Children at this age respond to plenty of one to one interaction, but are encouraged to make as many chocies for themselves as possible.
All children love to explore, and it is exploratory instinct in babies and pre-toodlers that is nutured at Oaktree Day Nursery.
We aim to make their days enjoyable with lots of fun and laughter.
The pre-toddlers room is as ample carpet space for soft play. The room is kept clean, warm, safe and well ventilated. It is always cosy, welcoming and very well equipped. The children play with plenty of bright stimulating toys as as being allowed the opportunity to explore intresting and safe household objects - just as they would at home.
Cots are provided in this room for children to sleep, usually after lunch. The children are gently settled to sleep and staff watch over them as they sleep.
Babies and toddlers are taken outside whenever possible,to encourage physical and social development Babies only stay out for short periods of time and never in mid-day sun.
Daily records using bith to three matters will be maintained to allow parents to oversee their childs daily routine and progress. Staff make themselves available to discuss your childs daily development.
TODDLERS
When your toddler joins us at a Oaktree Day nursery they will have the opportunity to thrive in an environment which encourages their creativity, independence, confidence, determination and joy of exploring!
Provides a wide collection of opportunities for toddlers to explore investigate and learn in a safe, stimulating place.
Encourages toddlers to paint, draw and engage in a wide range of creative activities, and in quieter moments there is time to look at books or complete jigsaws.
Promotes independent learning, social skills and personal development essential for all toddlers.
Ensures toddlers can have the opportunity to rest if necessary, sleeping on comfortable sleep mats or in cots.
Takes account of the physical developmental needs of a toddler through using the indoor and outdoor environment.
The staff team works closely together and with parents' support to care for your child's individual needs.
The staff are experienced, with a variety of skills and qualifications to meet the needs of the toddlers.
The day is structured but flexible to meet the individual needs of toddlers. Indoor and outdoor experiences are planned offering a wide variety of opportunities.
The routine encourages children to socialise with others and experience small groups as well and exploring and investigating toys and activities alone or with a supportive staff member.

PRE-SCHOOL
Children at this age are encouraged to become independent and responsible for their own actions. Our pre-school team of staff plan suitable activities.
The staff work inline with the foundation stage early learning goals, this provides learning in six areas:
1. Personal, social and emotional development
2. Communication, language and literacy
3. Mathematical development
4. General Knowledge and understanding of the world we live in
5. Physical development
6. Creative development
Oaktree encourage partnership with parents / guardians, staff organize regular parent meetings to enable you to check on your childs progress, which will give you confidence that your child is valued and they develop a sense of achievement.
Pre-school notice board is updated with information of topics for each term, which enables you to contribute to your Childs learning experience. Our staff observe and record the progress in order to plan the next steps of play and learning goals.
A keyworker is allocated to each child, they will work closely and build a excellent relationship with your child. The key worker will also keep your Childs own personal achievement files up to date. The keyworker will always be available for support and advice for you to discuss your Childs progress.
Our aim is to give your child confidence and an head start in their education, which will prepare them for their first year at school.
