Crown Lawns have specialised in Turf, Top Soil, Fencing, and Paving since 1974, and provide a wide range of services to residential and commercial customers throughout the UK, but working primarily in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. Based in Driffield, East Yorkshire, we service Hull, Beverley, York, Lincoln, Grimsby, Scunthorpe, and the surrounding areas on a regular basis, but also work in Leeds, Newcastle, and as far afield as Scotland and London for larger commercial projects.

With years of experience and a dedicated team of staff, we are able to provide professional service offering excellent value for money from a small garden turf and landscape to a large scale site development.

TURF – We specialise in supply only, or supply and lay, for any job size.

TOP SOIL – Stored and graded on our farm.

FENCING – We have a dedicated fencing team.

PAVING – For patios and drives.

LANDSCAPING – Garden design for garden make overs — pergolas, ponds, steps and low maintenance gardens.



ABOUT US
Crown has been a small family run business for over 35years, based at Eastfield Farm Driffield. It is owned and managed by Peter Moore and is one of the leading turf suppliers and installers in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

Peter initially trained at Bishop Burton College gaining an ONC in agriculture, which has given him a good grounding in all aspects of plant and soil husbandry.

Subsequently he has completed further training, attending a three year HND course, specialising in garden design and construction. This has proved to be invaluable as the knowledge and practical skills acquired have been essential in ensuring a high quality service can be offered

The business has invested in a variety of specialised “Seed bed” preparation machinery this enables us to cater for all sizes of jobs; from domestic gardens, to larger commercial projects such as, football pitches, caravan parks, housing estates and larger grass seeded areas. It ensures a top class surface for laying or seeding, which is the most important part of the process, as it makes sure the finished area is firm and level.


TURF
We have been supplying and laying turf for over 35 years and our aim is to provide a first class service to all our customers. Whether you need a small or large order we aim to give a good friendly service and advice. We have various grades of turf to suit all budgets and purposes.

Domestic Turf – Where price is the determining factor.
This is a budget hard wearing Rhy grass mix suitable for family lawns- children and pets, caravan parks etc.

Stadium Turf-for quality domestic lawns
It is hard wearing, has good colour and high density sward. Ideal for rear gardens, it is low maintenance, making it the number one choice for family lawns.

Rhy Greens Turf- for prestigious lawns
Fine appearance and density, which is easier to manage than a non-rhy.

Before ordering please ask for advice as to suitability, as it will need to be well managed.

Greens non-rhy –for putting green and specialist lawns.
Not suitable for most domestic lawns.

But is available for specialist projects again please ask for advice.

OUR TURF IS ONLY HARVESTED TO ORDER THIS ENSURES ALL TURF IS DELIVERD FRESH AND IN GOOD CONDITION READY FOR LAYING.



TOP SOIL
Our topsoil is sreaned and blended at the farm then barn stored ready for delivery.

Topsoil is the upper most layer 6- 10 inches deep, it contains the highest concentration of plant nutrients and organic matter. This allows growth to flourish and produce rapidly, but remember different plants may require a different soil ph.

Top soil is normally delivered and tipped at your property and left for you to move, but where access is difficult we can provide a barrowing service as shown in the images to the right.


LANDSCAPING
Paving – for Drives and Patios
We use various products which include drive sets, natural stone, paving slabs, gravel and slate.

We recommend that any hard landscaping products are viewed before ordering from a catalogue.

We would recommend that any hard landscaping should have a good sub-base, at least 4-6inches of hardcore, to ensure long lasting stability.

Ponds
We cater for all sizes of water features from ponds to lakes.

Soft Landscaping
All sizes of plants, including mature shrubs and trees can be sourced from reputable growers and planted. Please look at case studies to see different projects and materials used.



COMMERCIAL
Crown are well suited to undertake larger seeded and turfing Projects. As we are farmers and turf growers, we have specialist machinery and skilled staff to prepare and sow a large areas.

We have worked on many large projects throughout the UK including football pitches, caravan parks, housing estates and larger grass seeded areas.

The commercial projects we have worked on aren’t limited to permanent instalments, and we have produced a number of temporary turfed and landscaped areas for PR and marketing events, exhibitions, and other occasions, for a range of private and local authority clients.


FENCING
We have a small dedicated team for all fencing projects. The team is headed by Keith, who has been in charge for over 12 years.

Keith will visit your site to give advice and free quotations based on the options available. If you wish us to proceed, he will be on site from throughout the project to manage and direct the team.

All styles of fencing can be supplied and erected, and all sizes of jobs are catered for.
